Text Box: The first present—Avantgarde Pinot Noir from Moselland—is not only an award winner for taste but it has also won for bottle design. Some of our Customers actually say this bottle makes a great candle holder. This fine wine is fairly light in colour, redolent with freshly crushed raspberries, cherries and red currants. It has a silky smooth finish and is deep with fruit flavors. This wine pairs well with pasta, beef or mild cheese. Retails for $14.99/bottle. The second present is the Von Schleinitz Weisenberg Spatlese Riesling 2006. This Riesling grape was harvested after those used for the Auslese and benefited from some Botrytis. Its spicy, smoky, rich aromas lead to a plush, super-friendly, ample personality packed, with suave layers of sweet white peaches. This velvety-textured, medium-bodied wine has an appealing underpinning of tangy green apples that inject some zest into its soft character. This one should score in the 90’s when it is finally rated. It is a very powerful white, which should hold its own for another 10 years. Look for this one to win several Gold Medals and make the top 100 wine list from Wine Spectator. Will be served perfectly with turkey, chicken or German Dumplings!! Retails for $19.99/bottle. Enjoy!

Welcome and Happy Holidays to all new and returning Wine Club Members. This months’ presents are sure to bring big smiles to all the good boys and girls. Our busy Santa has come back al the way from the fine country of Germany. He was visiting the Mosel Valley which offers incredibly beautiful scenery with steep, terraced vineyards, a warm and dry climate, exotic wildlife (reindeer), as well as Roman Churches, medieval castles and romantic little villages and wonderful wines. We were lucky to have him fill his sleigh with a couple of rare finds.
