Goodbye Turkey 5 Tbls Flour 1 tsp salt 1/4 cup butter or margarine 2 1/2 cups milk or light cream 1 1/8 cups Minute Rice 1 1/2 cups chicken broth 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese 1 1/2 cups cooked asparagus 2 cups turkey—cooked and deboned 2 Tbls slivered almonds Melt butter and stir in flour and half the salt. Stir in milk and stir until thickened. Pour Minute Rice (right from the box) into a 2 quart shallow baking dish (or a 9x9 inch Pyrex) Combine broth and remaining salt and pour over rice. Sprinkle half of cheese over rice. Top with asparagus, then turkey. Pour on sauce. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes or until bubbly. Top with almonds, if desired. Serves 6. (You can also use 1 can of cream of chicken soup thinned with a little milk, instead of the sauce).
