This month Dan has picked two fabulous choices from the world famous wine region of California. Both of these fine selections have just been released within the last month!! Text Box: Our first treat for the month is the Toasted Head Chardonnay —from the Russian River Valley. The Russian River Valley is known for producing world class chardonnay. It’s defining characteristic is the morning fog that blankets the region. Afternoons are usually sunny and the growing season is long. Soils are typically sandy or silty and well drained. The combination of cool nights and sunny days results in wines with delicate flavors, rich in complexity and depth. This wine was 100% barrel fermented and aged in new and older French oak barrels. Aaahhh, and the taste . . . The wine has apple and citrus blossom aromas with hints of cinnamon and clove spice. Full of character and balance—taste pear, spice and vanilla aromas with yeasty and buttery notes. On the palate, apple, pear, and tangerine flavors mingle with spice and light butter. The finish is rich and creamy. Made from 100% Chardonnay grapes. Pairs excellent with Seafood or grilled chicken. Retails for $16.99/bottle.
