Our first selection Chateau Recougne Bordeaux Blanc. Produced from the finest Sauvignon Blanc grapes. This is a new one for our Wine Club—it is a white Bordeaux. It has a beautiful pale color with brilliant reflections. It is aromatic and intense with grapefruit and green apple. The new oak present is well integrated. There is a great contrast between the richness of the fruit and the freshness that the acidity ensures. Dry and very fruity. This one is a refreshing, classic white. Pairs well with grilled seafood w/veggies. Retails at $10.99.
This next one is a firecracker!! It is the Barton & Guestier Chateauneuf du Pape 2004. This is the Cadillac of all regions throughout the world. We were fortunate to score enough of this fine wine for our Wine Club only. The quantities are limited. You will note, the Papal coat of arms from medieval times appears. Only owners of vineyards are permitted to use this coat of arms on their bottles/labels. These well known Wine Masters have done it again - pushing the extraction to the extreme on the Grenache—combined with the Syrah—giving it richness, flavors (spices and cherry) and structure. Garnet in color with good intensity. Attractive nose with jammy aromas of raspberry and cherry mixed with cocoa notes and cinnamon. A lovely wine, well balanced, with ripe tannins and intense mouth flavors of fruits and black pepper. Powerful and dry with a smooth finish. This would be a great one to add to your wine cellar. It is just a baby now. Tastes great now, but will taste even better with age. Uncork and let this one breathe for 15 minutes or so. Swirl in your glass to release the berries. A great match with roasted red meats, grilled beef w/a Jamaican rub—an absolute ‘must’ with any marinated beef. Retails for $24.99.

Heard it through the grapevine. . .
