Our first pick is a spectacular 2006 Chardonnay from Hahn Estate Winery in the heart of California’s Monterey Coast. This is a full-spectrum wine showing distinct aromas of apricot, peach and pineapple. The palate is a lush mélange of green apple and tropical fruits that persist well into the finish on a platform of crisp acidity. This is a wine that screams for rich seafood. Try it with poached halibut or steamed lobster. Retails for $12.99/bottle.

Our next pick to ride the April winds into town is, the DELOACH 2006 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Sit down when you try this one, it just might blow you off your feet. Powerful Pinot Noir!!! This estate bottled Pinot Noir offers aromas of cherry and blackberry complimented by hints of savory spice. The cool, foggy Russian River Valley climate allows for slow ripening, enabling the grapes to develop full flavor. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cranberry mingle with classic brown spice flavors and is silky smooth with a supple finish. This is my personal favorite with duck fondue and wild mushrooms or all by itself– yummy!! Retails for $22.99/bottle.
